ARTIST PROFILE
Karen Pugh Lascaris was born and raised in Neptune, NJ, where she began drawing at the age of three. After winning several awards, she went on to major in Communications Design at New York's Pratt Institute. With an extensive client roster which includes Revlon and Celine, Paris, she has also completed many commissioned works, and has been a part of several art exhibitions.
Her illustration design abilities have also taken her into the world of fashion and shoe design. She went on to become the first Creative Director of Accessories on the Polo/Ralph Lauren Women's Design Team and, most recently, Head Designer of Charles David Footwear in Los Angeles.
Her greatest personal achievement, however, has been the publishing of her first book, "In Our Own Image", which enabled her to combine her passion for art, design, and photography (see News & Links). Her eye for visuals and photography also lead to her first credit as Producer on a television special to promote the Spike Lee movie "Inside Man", with Denzel Washington.
She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Kellet.
